I really love this blanket. The colors, the drape, everything. I wish I had a beach house with a porch overlooking the ocean, where I could wrap this around my shoulders, lay on a deck chair, watch the sea birds, and smell the salty air.
In reality, it will keep me company in the corner of my sewing room, draped across my old chaise lounge chair which faces a messy closet jammed full of fabric. If I open the window I can smell the dairy cows down the street. Hee Hee, Not quite the beach, but I call it home. Oh well the blanket is DONE! And did I say I loved it already?
We've had this chaise for nearly 20 years, and the only thing wrong with it, is the faded plum colored upholstery. I would love to get it re-covered, or maybe make some slip covers, but for now I am covering it with an old white Matalisse bedspread.
The little pillow was a discount store purchase. It's made out of orange corduroy, and the basket of flowers is stitched in french knots. So cute!! I made the quilt in the background about 3 years ago.

Gosh I love it...I found cotton ease to be splitty...But this looks great!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynne, I love it too!!! You chose such awesome colors and I love the way it matches your pillow and quilt. Who needs a beach house when you have a ripple blanket like that?? Happy weekend!! xoxo Debbie
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, it's fabulous and fits right in with the quilt and cushion already on the chair. You've used some really bright and cheerful colours and I can see what you mean about having a beach house and wrapping it around you whilst you stare at the ocean. Love it. xxx
ReplyDeleteLoving that blanket! The colours are gorgeous and it goes perfectly with the quilt and the cushion.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about making a ripple and this has me almost convinced!
I love it.

Really beautiful, I can almost smell the sea air when I look at it :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the ripple! And what a cozy spot where it rests!! I have a chaise in the fitness room, and it is where most people are when in the fitness room...not on the equipment!!!

Yum, I can just imagine the luscious, cottony weight of that beautiful blanket. Well done, you. It looks right at home there on your chaise--perfectly beachy and cozy. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely blanket! And I can picture your seaside scene - sounds like heaven... though I'm quite jealous of your cows too - at our last house we had cows in the field at the end of the garden and I loved it, smell or no smell!

ReplyDeleteI miss the country. I would love some country air. We could trade. We live close to Galveston Bay and Galveston. You could come here and enjoy the sea life, sea birds, and ocean smell. LOL

ReplyDeleteWow Lynne, your ripple is absolutely stunning! I love the colours so much. It looks perfect on your chaise. I want to start another ripple now having seen yours!! It's such a lovely pattern to work on isn't it? I bet you're getting a huge smile on your face every time you look at your new blanket!

I just spent an enjoyable half hour or so reading your blog posts. What a wonderful blog! You quilt, you crochet, you sew - me too - though I think you are getting a lot more done than I am! Anyway, I'm adding you to my blog roll.
ReplyDeleteOh and as I was reading posts, I discovered the link to my snowflake garland. What a nice surprise.
