A star is born

Finished my smaller Star block quilt this past weekend.  It measures 32x32.

I used 4 fat quarters of Heirloom by Joel Dewberry and Kona white.  The backing was from my stash.

My latest book selections are The Yellow House, set in Ireland around World War 1, and When We Were Strangers, another historical novel, this time in 19th century America about an Italian immigrant making a new life for herself as a seamstress.  I wish I could read and sew at the same time, but I would need two heads, four hands and four eyeballs.  Not cute.

  1. Look like good books. Are they current releases available at Barnes & Noble now?

  2. Lovely stars! And loving that hand stitching!

  3. You can get these books on cd, thats what I hear when I quilt a quilt, then you can listen to the story while you sew.
Your star is beautiful! I like the colours!

  4. Oh, it's lovely! Beautiful palette, and I really admire your neat, even stitching. Jealous. :)

  5. Gosh that was quick making! Your star is beautiful Lynne, I love the colour combination too. I wish I could sew, knit, crochet, and read all at once... one ugly monster in the making I think :0)Enjoy the rest of your week xox

  6. Love the beautiful quilt Lynne, wow wouldn't it be great if we could really multi task.....only for the good stuff though, reading, sewing, eating cakes.......etc!!!!
