This weekend...

This weekend I am enjoying...
these cute coin purses I made yesterday from the book Zakka Style.  The fabric is a linen blend and the purse frames can be found at The Workroom.
They're lined with cotton and have a layer of batting in between.  I'm not kidding, you can make one faster than it takes the glue to dry on the metal frame.  They are that simple.  And check out the pretty turquoise dot fabric.  On sale at Joann's.  Hurry, get some!

Starbucks Organic shade grown Mexican coffee.  The only coffee I will drink black, because I REALLY like it.  I had a sample in their coffee shop last year, and bought some.  When I went to buy more, it was only offered online.  C'mon Starbucks really?  Don't tease me like that.  You have stores on every corner, of every city, but I have to pay shipping.  Jeez.
What  kind of coffee do you guys like?  I think I need another source.
By the way the cookie is a recipe from Elana's Pantry.  It's chocolate chip made with blanched almond flour, salt, baking soda, butter, chocolate chips, and sweetened with agave syrup. They are very filling, and a good alternative to white flour and sugar.

My animals have the right idea.  Maybe I will lay in the sun today.   These two follow the sun up the stairs every morning, it's really kind of cute.  When the sun leaves the stairs, they fight over a small patch in the corner of the kitchen.  What a life.

  1. Hi Lynne

You've done a better job of those type of purses than my efforts awhile back. I used a sewn on frame and it was quite arduous so it looks as if when I get the inclination to try making purses again I should go to the glue on type.
    Pretty pretty fabric!!

I'm a tea gal and the only coffee I ever really appreciated was the time I tasted turkish coffee in Egypt...... that was quite special.

Your animals have got the right of it....that's the life !!

    keep well

  2. Your Boston Terrier is cute. I need to see more pics. I've seen a few of those brownish-red colored ones. The name escapes me at the moment, maybe "seal". That doesn't sound right. Anywho, more pictures please! Your little change purses are too sweet! Nice job on them. How's that white cotton blanket coming?

  3. Those are darling Lynne! I have been wanting to make some of those. Easy eh?
Cute fabrics too. I love coffee! One of my favorites is from fresh & easy called Fog Lifter, I think.
Cute pic of the animals in the sun. Mine do the same thing!

  4. Hi Lynne,
you glued the frames to your purses? I have a frame here, I bought it recently at a show and the man said you fasten it with pliers. My purse is completely sewn but I have problems attaching the frame, because the fabrics doesn´t want to stay in place. Maybe I will try it your way. And you are defenitely right, the sewing is the fast part about making such a coin purse.

Both our cat and dog like to do the same as your cats - any tiny patch of sun will do!
Hope you enjoy some sun too Lynne!

  6. You're making those purses look so easy! I just know I'd be getting glue all over the place. Might try it anyway, though, they are that cute.

I haven't yet found a coffee I don't like, so I'm not much help there. My favorite is a locally roasted French Dark something-or-other, drunk black as your shoe. Yummmmmm.
