Heirloom Needle Case

This is one of those items you don't realize you need until you actually get one and start using it.  I've been doing a lot of hand sewing lately, and it seems like I'm always looking for a needle.  I usually have to paw through the half dozen pin cushions laying around my sewing room, but this, this keeps everything contained in one spot.
The tutorial is from the Purl Bee, the rock star of beautiful handmades, and was easily sewn together in half and hour.  I had everything in my stash, which is always a bonus, and picked out my favorite piece of blue hand dyed wool( don't remember where I bought it, but I have a nice little stash of felted wool just waiting around for a project like this, so I was happy to use it).  I kind of wish I would have added an embroidered monogram or something to the outside, but I thought their example was beautiful in its simplicity and plainness.  Here are the directions if you want to make one.

We are headed out to watch the San Francisco Giants at Spring Training in Arizona.  I'm looking forward to getting away for a few days and enjoying some sun, baseball, hot dogs and a cold beer.
Of course I'm bringing some crochet for the plane, and I hear there is a good yarn shop in Scottsdale.
I hope to return tired but happy, with yarn and a sunburn.
Have a great weekend everybody.

  5. Have a wonderful time on your spring training trip. I have to say I am not feeling all that confident about my Rays this year.
