Resurrection

Will someone please tell me why, when I'm deep in the belly of a quilt, blocks sewn, rows arranged, binding chosen, almost done, heading down the home stretch..C'mon Sea biscuit! (or California Chrome...are you going to watch the Belmont race this weekend?), that I decide to crochet something?
This blanket pattern is from the Crochet Today, August 2011 issue, and has been resurrected from the closet.  I don't know why I choose to work on a wool blanket when the forecast calls for hotter than blazes temperatures, but there it is.

  1. It would be a shame not to finish that crochet blanket it is flipping gorgeous. Your quilt is really super too x

  2. Lol! I do the same thing!!! I'm currently in the middle of a quilt and decide I need to pull out all the knitting UFOs and start working on them. Call it a compulsive urge. :-)

  3. Me too! What is it with that? We're so easily derailed. Of course, I love that scrappy quilt up there so much I want to take a bite out of it--I should just go ahead and ask you which quilt I'm going to make next-- but a little crochet detour never hurt anybody. :)

  4. Look at you and that pretty blanket. It's looking so nice and the colors are great! Who cares if it's at the boiling point outside? Love that cream you are putting them together with. Fun-fun! The quilt will be there when you're ready!

  5. Because you just needed a change of pace! I love the quilt in progress, and the crochet colors are dreamy!!! It is hot indeed. But never too hot to work with fabric or yarn.

I tend to do that. Finishing is optional!

  8. Perhaps because the quilt colorway is the same as the afghan and it motivated you? Take inspiration as it comes I say. Plus, since its a granny pattern you dont have to have the blanket on you as you work. Theyre both pretty in color and design. Lovely.

  9. I believe the Craft God's are messing with your head, they do that to me all the time. Regardless, the blanket is awesome.

  10. I can see why you couldn't resist that new pattern, it's so pretty. Plus with a quilt nearly finished you needed a new project to go onto to.
