When I ordered my Liberty fabric from Westwood Acres, they sent along a mini charm pack of Sphere by Moda. What a nice surprise! I set about piecing a pillow, along with some Kaufman Essex linen blend, which was just the kind of project I needed to break in my featherweight.
The front was a layer of patchwork, batting and muslin. The back was envelope style. I attached the front to the back with binding, just like a quilt.
Now back to the Liberty.....
Nice! It looks so summery and fresh - just what I need as I look at all the Christmas decorations waiting to be put a way and the thermometer reading well below zero!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the Liberty project: I ordered a few precious pieces a few months ago and can't decide what project is "Liberty Worthy".
Happy New Year!

Lynne, such a great pillow and I am so happy you are loving the Featherweight. I have to say that the puppy photo-bombing made me smile!

That's the perfect project for a charm pack, and I love the binding edge--great idea! Looks like your featherweight works great--excellent quilting, per usual in these parts. :)
ReplyDeleteHello Lynne. I went to become a follower and discovered I already am. Heavens, I must be losing my mind, so that should give you comfort just knowing that a follower is losing her mind and posting a comment today, lol. The patchwork is so much fun. I am so wanting to dust off my sewing machines and get busy, but alas, people keep wanting me to crochet more for them and I can't get past the yarn. Thank you for visiting my blog and becoming a follower. Hope the new year brings ua lots of fun stuff to share with others.
