A present for Mom
Finally finished the crochet ribbon shawl for my mom yesterday. Not sure if I want to make anything else with that ribbon yarn as it was a bit slippery. It's a cotton/rayon mix which is nice for spring and the navy, taupe and creme colors suit my moms' wardrobe. The pattern for the shawl is from this book. Since my mom started me on my creative sewing journey back when I was about 8 years old, it's nice to be able to make something to give back to her. She sewed our prom dresses, Barbie clothes, pajamas and knitted slippers and sweaters. A lifetime of creative giving. Thanks mom!
I'm loving this crochet stuff to the point of obsession! Right now my unfinished quilts are sitting in the sewing room, abandoned and gathering dust. When I went in to iron a shirt for my husband, I realized I hadn't been in there in days except to grab another ball of yarn and head back to the couch or porch. So. Many. Projects. What a happy dilemma! Happy Mothers Day to all the crafty moms out there in blogland!
