After the rain......

We had our first rain of the season.  Everything smells fresh, damp and crisp.  This morning I left the snoozing dogs inside and slipped out onto the porch for a quiet cup of coffee.  The chairs were full of the summers' dust, but I just threw a quilt down and curled up.  The cool air felt amazing, and the sunrise was so bright it almost hurt.  I've been waiting for this moment for weeks.

Once back inside, I opened the french doors, put Michael, Josh and the Canadian Tenors (OMG Hallelujah!!!) on Pandora really LOUD, and.......
Yeah.  It really doesn't get any better than this.
Hope you're enjoying your day as much as I am.

  3. Sounds like you had a magic day. The first sign of a change in the seasons is always special. Here in the Uk we've gone seamlessly from a wet summer into a wet autumn, but the first misty morning and evening yesterday were definite signs of change and therefore seemed special.
But your quilt is wonderful! The light and dark tones make a stunning pattern.
    Happy quilting Lynne!

  6. It's lovely that first shower of rain to settle the dust but here I can't remember when we had our first rain as it seems to have rained so often for months and months. Still I'm glad you got to appreciate it. Your quilt looks fantastic. I'm like you, the music has to be LOUD! Philippa xx

  7. Your scrap quilt is wonderful! After you posted the first block you made, I went away on vacation and took my sewing machine along. My sister and I each made a block using your tute - thanks so much. I hope to keep going and make a nice big quilt similar to yours. It doesn't look like you doubled up on many, if any, fabrics. I will have to because my scraps are not too plentiful, which could be a good thing, too. Can't wait to see yours all finished!
